I was at a store today and found this:

Has anyone heard anything about this product? I check Floppys ears and

I haven’t seen any waxy stuff but I read somewhere that Lopped ear bunnies

tend to be more waxy than buns that have ears which go straight up…so I just

wanted to know if this actually works and if I should try it?

If it where me I would get something recommended by the vet – it may be perfectly safe but it may not be as effective as something you can get from the vet.

good idea. I’ll have to ask him about that when he goes in for his check up.

I agree with Sarita, give the vet a call and ask. I’m not sure about this product.

I would recommend the Otirinse- it is commonly used for dogs and cat but can be used in other animals too.  I would stay away from “pet store” type health items- it seems as though they market things to make money- not necessarily to design a good product for cleaning rabbit ears.  I am most irked when I see vitmans that are labeled hamster/gerbil  or guinea pig/rabbit- all 4 of these critters have unique needs and because of their size they lump them into 1 or 2 catagories.

Otirinse is vet recommended and less likely to cause a problem with using it.  SOme ear cleaners leave the ear wet and at a ph where yeast abd bacteria can thrive- add into that a lop ear- darkness also.  All the makings for an ear infection.

I would recommend to ear cleansers recommended by your vet.  But Otirinse is good.

Yep – OtiRinse was developed for dogs with floppy ears but is safe for buns.  You can get it from any of the online pet med vendors (I got 2 big bottles from 1800petmeds and decant it into smaller easier-to-handle bottles.

I was actually given a small bottle at the shelter when I adopted my lop.
