        Hello.

Im new here. I will try to be brief as my question is simple.

My boy was diagnosed with EC five weeks ago. Some people might be familiar how awful this illness can be. However my boy recovered for 28 days except that his head didn’t fully straighten. When he stopped rolling we put him in a bigger enclosure (from the beginning he was in a medium size cage as he was rolling really bad). Now his enclosure is 143cm long and 80cm wide. He can walk really well eats a lot but doesn’t want to leave his enclosure yet 🥺 it’s been a week that he stays only there, even though we open him a door and put puppy mats on the hardwood floor outside the enclosure he still won’t leave it except if we lure him with treats even then he just eats them and gets back. Is this normal? Will he ever get out and run around the apartment? He has always been free roam and LOVED going to every room and sleep in different corners of each room🥺 He also loved sleeping with me and my fiancé on the bed 😭

          Poor baby 🙁

I would give him time and make the flooring as soft and grippy as possible. The damage to the nervous system from EC is permanent and if he is still tilted he likely doesn’t have the same balance he used to. Puppy mats might still be a bit slippery so adding more blankets may help. Basically modify his environment so he feels as safe as possible. Adding extra hides and bumpers around might help him too.

It’s also possible he needs a longer course of panacur, some buns need 2 full rounds.

Soft, non-slip rugs to get a bunny from point A to point B can really help them build confidence. I’m sure your bunny is just feeling unsure.
