I was grooming Hugo yesterday and today since he has been shedding pretty bad since the night I met him (almost 3 weeks ago).  I noticed what looks like dandruff when I was brushing him.  Tonight a patch of dry skin came off of him.  That looks just like when we get dry patches on our skin.

I know that at his foster home they let him out everyday and they said he got a lot of urine in his fur from not being neutered yet.  So they gave him a monthly bath.  Could this have caused that?

Is this something I need to be concerned about?  I do not want to irritate his skin by brushing him daily but he is shedding so bad right now.  Probably due to all the moving around and being neutered.

I think the brushing will help with the skin shedding. It is possible the baths contributed to the dry skin too.

OK. I’ll keep brushing him then. Hopefully his diet will help too. He started his Timmy pellet yesterday and has even been eating a little bit of the Orchard hay I got him yesterday. He ate a small bowl full over night and I’ve even seen him pick at it today! That’s a huge improvement for him.

I know Monkey gets dry skin when she sheds. Brushing does help. Even with brushing she still gets it every time though :p
