Is the dish close to his food/toys?  If so, perhaps move it into a corner where there’s nothing else but the water dish.

Bun loves putting the TP roll in her water dish too, and pinecones. I just take them out constantly.

Mine do this too. Stormy throws toys in his water dish and Bindi throws poos, cardboard, litter. I have to change Bindi’s water several times a day sometimes.

It’s probably just a game he’s trying to play with you! Monty has a bottle rather than his bowl when he’s in his cage, because he constantly gets hay and food in the bowl if I put it in there.
BUT he does love putting stuff in his litter tray. Lots of toys cardboard tubes or anything I give him to play with eventually winds up in his toilet and I end up having to throw things away for hygiene reasons! Sometimes we’ll take them out and he actually makes a point of putting them straight back in like he’s saying “but that’s where this GOES!”
Sometimes bunnies just get ideas in their head and there’s not much we can do about it, apart from either get rid of the bowl and just use a bottle or resign yourself to changing the water several times a day…

He’s probably getting what he needs to drink from the bottle, so this is more like his private wading pool.
