I buy the Jerky sasoning at Wal-Mart. The brand is Wild Game Jerky Seasoning. I love the spicy blend but it’s too much for my wife. I but a real nice Bottom Round roast that usually just has only one side with about 1/4″ of fat on it that can be trimmed off easily. I bought a meat slicer too, but you can have it done by you meat department. You want 1/8-3/16 thick pieces, and I usual buy about a 3+ pound roast. Even if it’s closer to 4 pounds I mix the seasoning to 3 pounds and spread the slices out on some freezer paper, which you can buy by the roll. Season both sides then seal in some tupperware overnight or for 24 hours. After about 1-2 hours in the dehydrator I flip each piece as it will stick to the tray pretty good if not, then about every hour or so I rotate the trays top to the bottom and so on. Jerky is done in about 4-5 hours usually, mmmmmmm
The dehydrater I bought had like 4 trays, and I purchased another 4 additional trays at fleet farm too. I’ve tried the ground meat gun thingy for ground meat jerky but I prefer the whole muscle meat as in a bottom round roast.
Good luck, my daughter eats it so fast I never get much. Kinda sucks cause it is a bit of work to set up, make, and then clean everything up. But “ooooh it’s so good”
Velvet only get about2-3 pineapple chunks a day, but, boy does she come running when she hears me shake the paper plate full of them and call her name
