We have had Bonny for around 4-5 months and she has been neutered. She is a lovely natured rabbit with rogueish tendencies, but is litter trained. We wanted to get her a playmate for while we were at work, when we found Zeus up for adoption and it seemed our decisions were made for us. After just 2 days bonding they are now inseparable. Zeus is very timid, and a nightmare to round up at bed time, but is also litter trained. So the frustration comes when they are both out at the same time, neither of them use the trays provided. It’s not just the odd pellet that misses the tray, it’s literally everywhere!

Does anyone have any suggestions that will make it less hard work at playtime?

        Thanks

How long has Zeus been there? It could be territorial marking

            It could be territorial still…

Do they have access to their in-cage litterbox while they are out playing (meaning: they can hop back in their cage/pen to use the “facilities” and then hop back out?) My pair has shunned every extra litterbox in their exercise space. They prefer to go home and use their “own” litterbox, even if they are on the opposite side of the house, they will make their way back.

Did you slowly increase the exercise space? If not, you might have to start small again.

Are both rabbits adults (over 1 year) and have both been spay/neutered for longer than 1-2 months?
