ok i was just on here earlier posting about my bunnies and i leave and go to the pet store and get some hey. i get back and there on my doorstep is a box with a note from my friend (not gunna read it) and inside the box are two baby rabbits one obviously large then the other…omg i has alot of bunnies already…… i will try to get pics up so you can see i mean the little one is very small
Well, that does not sound like a friend to me…I would not be happy about this at all.
i am not happy with this she has never dumped animals on me before especially not rabbits….she breeds hers and sells them off i have gotten a few little ones from her in the past but only when i asked for them…she doesnt seem to want to talk to me right now….well i gotta get them set up for now until i can figure something out….well on the bright side they dont look unhealthy or anything yet……i am worried about the little one though he seems very young.
oh goodness!!! That is absolutely crazy! keep us updated on the situation.
this is awful. how could she do that to you when you already have so many? does she think you won’t notice a couple more?! well, i guess you could always look into rehoming them after they’re altered if you just don’t have the space.
That is terrible! Hopefully it is not as cold in Florida as it is here right now because it is not good for babies to be out in the snow.
How old do the babies look? Are they old enough to be away from their mother? Hopefully she will tell you so that you know if they need to have any special food or diets…
I’m sorry that happened, it doesn’t sound like a very good friend.
What the?? She breeds on purpose and she dumped them on your porch?? OMG
…I could understand like, the poor single mother down the street, ends up with a litter and comes to you for help. A breeder-No no no no no no….you created them ON PURPOSE you are responsible for them UGH!!!
*HUGS* Keep us posted
well the little one seems to have bites all over it and is very small but he seems active and eating regular bunny food….he is about five inches long. and the larger one is very sweet….no bites on it or anything. thsi one is active too and eating fine seems very healthy….they are so cute the little one is kinda fluffy but that will probly change and a grey white color with dark eyes….and the larger one looks like a dutch with black pattern and pretty dark eyes….i need to find out their sexes can i find out when they are that young ? well i’ll try to upload pics so you can see them
Awe shame. She would probably be avoiding you right now too. Naughty naughty.
Poor little one with bites. Goodness. Best wishes for your new ones. More mouths to feed.
Oh, my! Good luck. And good luck dealing with your “friend”. Yoicks!
keep us updated this is insane!
surprise we are home!!! yes pics and updates. please.
Oh no, I hope you have separated them – I worry that bite marks can become abscesses so this is not good.
doesnt matter now the little one didint make it….but the big one is fine
Sorry to hear that. And sorry you have to deal with this! Wonder where the bites came from…. Do you think your friend was unable to afford vet care? This is so sad!
i dont know whats going on with her. and i had 2 out of three females spayed and one of the females died in surgery cuz the vet was stupid i guess. and i found the other female a home so now all i have are my 4 boys the one female and the one baby…..need to find a new vet i think dont want him killing the rest of them…
Aw, I’m sorry!
…If that’s a friend…what do your “enemies” do..
Poor lil’ one! Atleast she dumped them on the right rabbit person…
((good vibes))
Oh no, sorry you lost your bun girl too! What a time you’re having. Any surgery is always risky and spays a lot more intrusive than neuters. Was the vet very experience in rabbit surgeries?
your right you dont want to know what my enemies would do. but anyway this girl who dropped off the bunnies is only like 13 so its probly a little understandable that she doesnt know not to do this. i have decided to keep the little bunny after all.
he said he had done rabbits before and we did blood work and everything. she was a young rabbit too so i dont know.

Yeesh. Poor bunns! ): ..
Aww, is that the new baby in your profile pic? it’s precious!
no thats not him/her. my profile pic is of a dwarf/dutch mix called bunster he isnt mine anymore but he was an awesome rabbit. and the pic for my avatar is also a dutch mix named mayoutsuki he died about 5 years ago of depression.well then anywho i guess that she doesnt know any better personally.
i’m so sorry to hear you lost your bun in surgery. that is very upsetting. if you have doubts about the competency of your vet, i would not hesitate to look for another one. but even with the best vet, surgeries have risks, spays especially which are invasive. there may have been something wrong with the bunny that would not have shown up in tests. i’m also sorry to hear about the little baby that died. did it seem like it was too young to be away from it’s mother? how is the other bun doing? i’d suggest getting that one in to a vet (maybe not the same one) for a check-up to make sure he/she is healthy.
yea that one is going to the vet today. a different one.
i have finally brought in all of the bunnies but they are currently staying in emergency cages (hurricane, tornado, freeze warning, and thunderstorm cages) until they are fixed and the huge cage is finished.all of them have their own but they are the annoying solid bottom ones that you have to clean out everyday (would rather vaccume floor).
do they have litterboxes in their cages? you might try that instead of putting litter in the bottom of the cage.
well i suppose this all worked out anyway. i did end up talking to her she said that her dad got pissed about somehting or other and started killing the babies for no reason so she took what she could and gave them to me cuz thats all she could save. i dont know if any of it is true but thats what she told me. apparently he likes the parent bunnies…. but it didint make any sense really so idk.
Oh my goodness, that’s awful! I hope that’s not true. That’s very sad.. at least Baby will have a good home now.
I don’t understand how people can be so cruel.
i know but its in the past i just hope she isnt breeding them anymore because i cant take anymore bunnies.
Goodness what an awful thing if it is true. Sounds like they need to be speutering some bunnies and fast/
Her dad started killing the babies? What did he do bite them to death? I doubt thats what happened to the little one all biten up poor thing.
well i know she kept a male with the female so maybe the male started biting them? if this were believable then they would be seperate situations i think ( baby buns being bit, then some of them being killed by her dad) i unno
This alll seems insane. Why is a 13 year old breeding rabbits??? And her father is killing them?? I don’t care who it was friend or not, if she or her father is killing bunnies… i would do something about it even if means bringing in authorities….. those bunnies don’t deserve the life she is providing for them. I am Sorry you had to deal with the deaths yourself. What a horrible situation.
Ok wait *picks jaw up off floor* I think I”m confused. The girl you know, *her* dad? Or the bunny’s dad?
Either way I’m glad you could save them
4H teaches kids animal husbandry, and one of the things they teach is the breeding and raising of rabbits. The only trouble is that they don’t really teach the emotional/psychological side of rabbits as they use decades old ideals of rabbits being stupid livestock that can live in small cages happily.
i dont know anymore. i do know that baby bun is safe now. i dont know if she is still breeding or anything she may not be i dunno. without the breeding part her bunnies always looked healthy to me (and always had food, water, veggies, hay, and toys)but i havent seen them for months now so i dunno now. i remeber she did keep them outside in huge hutches and brought them inside for storms. she used to take them inside everyday and spend time with them but i dunno about now.she really did love her bunnies at one point but like i said i lost touch alot with her months ago so i dunno anymore. i htink this thing about her dad killing bunnies was a lie so i woudl take them i mean he always seemed nice to me, yeah he got angry at her alot but i dont think he would do that as i remember he really liked the bunnies. i think she got the breeding idea from her uncle he does for whatever reason, because i remember her first bunny she kept him inside until she got another one then they built huge hutches and put them outside.6 months ago she had 6 buns but some of them died (she believed her neighbor poisoned them because he fed them veggies from their garden) then she gave some to her uncle she had 2 buns when we last talked then she just stopped talking to me for some reason.
OH dear. What a mixed up situation. You know her Dad may be upset with her cause all this is going on. If she isn’t taking care of them like she used to I could see being upset and finding the bunnies new homes. Better homes. Oh Yikes.
When I was a child my bro who was 10 years older than me would have to pitch in. He hated digging up the poo and putitng it in Mom’s flower garden. It was hard for me to do all that. I did some of it but got tired. My br would get so upset. lol
Mom said I loved those rabbits and took good care of them. But as children we need help sometimes.
The young girl I got Ruby from is very caring with her bunnies. She would rather tend to them than do homeschool work and chores. Can’t blame her. The buns are more fun that all that other nonsense hehe.
It is so sad when children lose interest in their pets. I feel for the poor things.
