I’ve bough my rabbit a dog crate to turn into a two maybe even three story cage. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the crate cage to show me ideas. Also, what did you use to make the floors/shelves/levels?

I don’t have any pictures but a google image search is usually a great place to find ideas. You will probably even find some ideas in the Rabbit Info tab at the top of the page and click on “House Rabbit Habitats”.

In my cube cage I’ve used a small wooden beam to support a shelf, and plywood for the shelf itself. I stuck linoleum on the plywood to make it waterproof, and capped all the edges with hard plastic “U” shaped channeling to prevent chewing. Then I drilled holes through the shelf near the edge to secure it to the cage with cable ties. The support beam underneath provides extra security in case cable ties get chewed etc.

Google “nic cube rabbit cage” and you will get not only pictures but also some nice explanations of how to set it up. These aren’t strictly dog crates of course but should give you the ideas you need to make it work.
