Evie doesn’t like fruit!  Grapes or strawberries, she’s not fond of– she goes straight for ANY kind of lettuce or veggie like she’s never been fed and it’s the best thing eve.  Fruit, she won’t even tolerate.  Weird?  Any siggestions?  Should I just stop trying?

I find my bunnies need something offered two or three or four times before they’ll try it. Treats are really for treats, so hey if she doesn’t like them, you can use things like oregano or carrot as treats and that’s even healthier!

I would not worry about the fruit – she doesn’t need the fruit. Do keep trying with the lettuces and greens though. Try some fresh herbs too like mint, basil, dill – mine like those too.

fruit isnt essential, its just that most bunnies really like it so they tend to get it for treats, my two will do anything for a chunk of banana, seriously they would do cartwheels for a slice, so they get some but if yours would prefer some carrot or whatever then this is less fattening so if they enjoy it more best to just stick with it

When I first got Olivia she turned up her nose at all my rabbit’s favorite fruity snacks like banana, pineapple and papaya. I think it’s because she was never offered them before I got her and didn’t really know what to make of them. I just kept offering her them when I gave my two boys their fruit treat and now, a few months later, she’s a total fruit-a-holic!!!

But hey, don’t be discouraged if your rabbit doesn’t like junkfood!! Hard to believe that fruit is a junkfood but to rabbits it really is.

if you try something small like a strawberry it wouldnt matter to much if it didnt get eaten so you could probably offer one a day or whatever so she gets used to the smell then when she starts eating them you can try something else!
