every time i let Ralphie out of his cage for playtime he binkies around and explores but only for around a half hour and then is pooped! i leave the cage door open for him to come in and out and he’ll just go back in and lie down on his blanket. do young rabbits require more rest? this isn’t a new behavior, since i got him he only takes advantage of floor time for a short while before going back into his cage. meanwhile in his cage he’ll run in circles all evening! i give him toys and treats when he’s out but is it possible that he’s bored?

Rabbits are most active in the morning and evening. Is the cage closed in the evening when he’s running around in there?

No I usually let him out for a few hours after dinner, 5:30-8:30, he runs around his cage after that

He doesn’t sound bored, just relaxed.

I wouldn’t worry too much my female bunny who is 4 months old is like that as well. She has her cage door open from 6 in the morning till 9 or so at night and she likes to play a little then go back in her cage to sleep. She does that off and on all day.

Mako has the whole kitchen to herself and spends hours just lazing.
