My shelter rescue is almost 3 months and just shy of 3 pounds. She looks like a Himalayan mix. She has small poops. I wonder if that means she will be small? How much do you think she will weigh when she is done growing?

I don’t think it correlates but more to do with what they eat.

Leopold and Wooly have different sized poops. Not a lot of difference, but Wooly’s are smaller. I suppose this is a good thing because then I know who the culprit is when I find a misplaced pile of poop.

My three have different sizes and Bugz (the smallest) are lighter in colour so i can always tell but there is not that much of a difference

I have wondered this too.  Do large rabbit like Flemish Giants have larger poops?  I only know what a medium sized bun’s look like so I have no clue.  It I were to get a larger bun would they  be different?

lolz…I have a 3 pound mini rex who makes bb’s that are more like shooter marbles if he eats the right hay, out-pooing my 9 pound lionhead/palomino’s best efforts. ^_^
The only poos I would watch out for are the ones that are the size of apple seeds or misshapen and infrequent, because a bunny isn’t eating right or may have stasis or a blockage, or strung together with fur during shedding. Both indicate either a trip to the vet or better hay intake and a good brushing for your bun.
As far as size of a rabbit is concerned, this has to do more with genealogy than waste size. I have a 4 pound Holland lop who can make some of the smallest droppings I’ve ever seen even during times of health. He’s just never been a big pooper. But he does follow the basic size guidelines for the breed.
Himalayans do tend to run on the smaller side in size I think. However, I believe that Himalayans and Californians can look much alike when young, and the Californian is a larger bun full grown.

BTW, Snuggle Bunny, yes, I had a neighbor who raised Flemmies and the poops are what you’d expect to see without a doubt! 0_o
And be ready for increased volume there too! x_x Must make for nice plant fertilizer.

Chacha has been having really nice sized poops, considering the fact that she is shedding right now. Oh my, I even was surprised by the size of em O_o

I have always wondered this too!! Sugar (Netherland) is about 2 lbs and his poops are pretty normal. Pepper (Netherland) is a little over 3lbs and her poops are huge compared to Sugars. Coconut’s (Holland) poops are tiny! But maybe that’s because he’s only 8 weeks?

I know, Moomoo is a dutch mix with “medium” poop. Lulu is an English mix with definitely large poops, though she is smaller than Moomoo. Bamboo’s poops are small in comparison and but she’s only about 3 months. I wonder if they’ll get bigger? Or if she will stay small?

A diet that is high in fiber (lots of hay) will normally create bigger poops. However, rabbit size can also play a part. There is no competing the size of a french lops poo against the size of poo from a netherland dwarf. I must say though that when I volunteered at SaveABunny, if a bunny came in with small poo, rarely lasted that way because the bunnies always had plenty of fresh hay and they ate tons of it, and that created big healthy round dry poos. Ah poo talk…joy.

Definitely -if the size of the bunny is very different. Certainly smaller poops can mean GI distess. You need to know what’s normal for your bunny But Rupert is about three times Kahlua’s weight and his poopies are much bigger than hers. It’s great-I can tell who’s pooping for those times your worried and watching

Poop size does correlate with rabbit size. A larger rabbit has a larger (in diameter) digestive tract, so the poops will be larger. It’s not always noticeable if the rabbits are similar in size, but for my pair, I can definitely tell the difference between my 5.5 pound lop and my 4 pound mini rex. I’m sure diet has a lot to do with it too tho.

Heh. Maybe I should start a ‘take pictures of your rabbit’s poo’ topic
