This isn’t really a concern thing as Sir, my young lionhead/dwarf cross, is perfectly healthy and behaves normally.  I just think it’s kinda funny that I’ve had the little guy for 3 weeks now, have seen him at various hours of the day, and I haven’t seen him sleeping once.  I’ve seen him lounge and even yawn (sooo cute), although he spends most of his time very energetic.  So I guess I’m just curious about bunny sleeping habits.  Are they nocturnal?  Do younger bunnies or smaller breeds sleep less?  Do they prefer to sleep near their people or off in their own space?  Like I said, just asking out of curiosity.

Rabbit can actually sleep with their eyes open. So if you notice your bun very calm and still (typically in the “meatloaf” position!) he might be sleeping. As they get into a deeper sleep, you’ll also notice that their nose stops twitching. I’ve also seen my buns flopped with eyes closed, sound asleep. Different buns will still different ways.

Rabbits most active during the early morning and late evening. Yes, they do sleep. As beka27 said, they sleep with they’re eyes open. As you begin to grow accustomed to your new buns behaviors, you’ll begin to tell when he’s sleeping. Once they grow more comfortable with they’re surroundings, they may choose to sleep with they’re eyes closed, but not usually. Sometimes they’ll start tipping over onto their side when they get deeper into sleep. That’s pretty funny to watch.
