I don’t mean do they really KNOW or understand of course…but do they seem to sense that it’s “The Holidays”?

I told my friend this (non bunny owner) and she laughed at me and told me I was insane..so I had to tell you guys..because you’ll all understand!

It happened after we put the tree up.  Drue has been extra zaney lately!  He’s been binkying more, flopping more, getting into mischief more, being friendlier..he’s just been like…in a WOOHOOO!!! mood lately.  And a lot seems to center around the decorations.  He runs past the christmas tree and binkies by and he rubs his nose and chin all over the stockings and he cuddles with my christmas stuffies.

Then Tucker…she isn’t allowed free range of the living room because of her carpet destroying issues but she has been running crazy around her pen and whenever we go over there shes’ up on her hind legs stretching as high up as she can and then bounces and binkies around after we pet her.  She’s been zipping all over the place and just been crazy too!

They’ve also both been really active at night too and shredding the newspaper that lines their litter boxes.  They’re just super hyper just like my kids are!  And that’s what got me wondering…my kids are happy and hyper cos it’s the holidays so I wonder if the bunnies have picked up on all this excitement and have realized that there’s all this stuff that’s different in the house and that something must be going on.

Hmmm, I have noticed that Boston has been into EVERYTHING!!!
But thats prolly cuz there’s stuff everywhere!

I can just picture Drue having a spazz attack…”PRESENTS!!!!! WHERE’S SANTA???? COOKIES??? PRESENTS!!!!!!!”

LOL that’s exactly what he’s acting like!  I should take a video except I can never figure out how to get those off my camera….but yea he just runs back and forth through the house, onto the couch, off the couch, down the hall, through the living room and he just binkies and then switches direction.  He’s just like woah hyper!!  He reminds me of my kids when they are hyper.  They run through the house and literally go “We gots lotsa ENERGYYYYYYYY” and I bet if Drue could talk he’d be doing that too.  LOL

My buns love to play in the presents and right now Carrera is doing Bunny 500’s around the place.

I wonder if they just feed off everyone elses excitement? Who is to say they have no idea what is going on but they see everyone else so happy and excited that they respond to all of that?

I really have no idea but I think over the years is could be possible for buns to make a connection of gifts after the tree goes up?

My bunny doesn’t have any idea it’s Christmas soon, lol. He can’t see any decorations.

I think Hedi is right. I think our buns feed off our emotions. Like my BF is always asking how come I can pick Boston up and put her on my lap and she doesn’t freak out. But when he does it, she freaks. I think its cuz I’m not scared or nervous, and he is, and she senses that. So just like with excitement and happiness…we’re happy–they are happy!!!

I don’t think Dallas knows, it’s his first Christmas so he doesn’t get it all..but maybe in a few years he will

I think for Drue it’s affecting him more because it IS his first Christmas.  I think it’s all new to him so he sees the sparkling lights and all the new stuff with new smells and so it’s making him hyper.  Drue’s not the type of bunny to get all nervous with new things…Drue actually LIKES new things. He likes change and I think it excites him.  LOL

Well I know one thing– Honey loves to watch me wrap presents– mostly because she likes the sound of me cutting the paper.

When I’m not looking she tries to unwrap them! xD Silly wabbit.

Mine have Noooo idea because we don’t decorate at our place (it’s too messy for decor!) and spend the holiday meals and stuff at our parents house-soo they have no idea LOL

Come on…I can’t cook-you didn’t reeeeaaaaally expect me to decorate either did you? heheh

I think they sense the excitement.   BB’s will post about being sad someone passed away moved out etc. and buns kind of pick up on that too.

Thats great what a happy pair you have. I would love to see them zooming around 1 on the couch etc the other in her xpen. Sounds fun.

My babies are having a but of a sulk at the moment cause bf went away and will be gone for another two and half weeks. They can’t understand why they aren’t getting their 1st breakfast any more and why they’re only getting one dinner
On the up side Layla is responding really well to not having bf around (cause he’s loud and annoying ) and she’s binkying and flopping and running round my feet for pets. It’s great

boston can relate to that. My boyfriend likes to be very *vocal* especially during sports games and while playing video games and we tend to have a scared bunny on our hands!

Mr. Puddles loves to hide under the tree. Not only that, but he thinks that all of the gifts under there are his to chew open.
It really wouldn’t be a problem but I worry about the lights on the tree. But yes I do notice a difference in him.

Mr. Puddles got his name because as we were trying to think of a funny name for him, a puddle is what he left behind.
He is a little stinker though.
                                          Thanks fo the welcome!
