It seems to me that over the last month my baby boy Fitch has mellowed quite a lot, he seems way friendlier than normal. He is 4 and a half years old and has been neutered
Usually if he was sitting by a doorway or just laying down you would walk up to stroke him and he’d run away, but now he quite happily sits there. I have always been able to stroke him but most of the time it was when it suits him. I have always been able to sit on the floor with him and stroke him for hours, he just sits there quite happy…and i end up with cramp!
I haven’t changed my behaviour, he still gets as much love and attention as ever. Is this normal that they mellow or become more trusting with age, or around this age?
The only downside is he seems to be going through his second stage of chewing over the last week
go into another room for a minute or two and you come back to him looking innocent and fresh chew marks on my TV unit!

Yes, they definitely mellow with age, just like any animal. I have 2 6 year old buns and they are more mellow now. My lop spends more time lounging that anything else. I still see the occasional Binky though!
I would only be concerned if it is a sudden behaviour change. If your usual hyper bun is mellow all of a sudden, that would make me suspect a health problem.
Has he lost any weight or changed eating/poopong habits?
