I find that I have to change my female’s litter twice as often as my male’s. Does anyone else notice this? They both drink about the same amount.

good question. i don’t know. i notice that my boy (5 pounds) pees a lot more as far as *frequency* than my girl (3.5 pounds). it’s hard for me to see how much they individually drink tho b/c they obviously share one water bottle. they get very wet veggies also, so that increases their water intake.

are their diets the same? are they both altered and the same size approx?

does anyone else have thoughts on this?

I change their litter boxes daily so I don’t know about frequency of changing..but I do notice that I have to spray down my girl bunny’s box more then I do Drue’s because of pee seeping through the newspaper and getting onto the box itself.  But I’m not sure if this is from her peeing more or just peeing in the same area over and over again and therefore having one spot being more soaked through then the others.

Not really. Are they about the same size?

They are about the same size, they eat the exact same diet, but that little Chloe sure pees alot! It also leaves a white film in the bottom of the box. Not Charlie though, his litter lasts for days.

My friend has Nora bun.  She is a little lionhead.  She pees A LOT  so I think it depends on the bun.  She pees more than Ruby and Cotton put together.

Now HB pees a whole lot too.  I dont’ really think it is cause of his size cause others here don’t have to change their bigger buns litterboxes like I do HB”s.

I wonder if diabetes could be a factor.  Do rabbits get that?  I suppose if they get a good diet without gobs of sweet fruit they shouldn’t get diabetes.
