I’ve been putting off bonding my two rabbits for roughly six months now. I had been extremely busy with school and work, and it sort of just got pushed to the back burner. My two rabbits Jinglebell (male) and Jolie (female) both live in my room with their cages next to each other, and get separate floor time.
Jinglebell has some serious pent up aggression for Jolie. If she goes near his cage during her floor time, he’ll go after her. It was finding a bite on her ear and some pulled out fur on her forehead that really kicked me back into bonding mode, but I’m afraid that my procrastination has completely ruined any chances of bonding them.
I put the two of them together in my hamper for about 15 minutes today to try and get into the hang of things again, and there wasn’t any fighting. To be fair, there wasn’t any room to move, either.
My main concern is whether Jinglebell’s past attacks (and Jolie’s constant passive aggressive flopping next to his cage) will stick with them and make them unbondable. And if not, how often a day can I do the 15 minute bonding sessions?
