        Hey everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with dislocated/broken toes. I was trimming Odins nails about a week or two ago and noticed one of his toes was kind of different looking. It was straightforward. At the time I didn’t think anything of it since he contorts himself in all different ways to avoid nail clippings. Today I went to do his nail again and noticed it was still different it kind of feels dislocated he is running around fine and let me touch it.

The Earliest I can get into a vet would be 10 days from now (Aug 24) I am wondering if his toe did have an issue 2 weeks ago would it have already healed properly or healed stuck in that position by the time Aug 24th comes around. I know with human toes there is nothing you can do so i was just wondering if anyone else experienced this and what the vet did if anything. (By time i get into the vet it will have been like this for almost a month)

If there was any bone fracture, then the bones would have done what they will naturally do which is “heal”. Whether it is “proper” is based on what you mean by that. I would focus on getting an X-ray when you’re at the appointment to get a clear picture of what’s going on and what has happened.

My Wick fractured his toe and it’s healed, but it’s crooked and positioned upward (i.e., not touching the ground). It healed properly in that it formed a nice callus and there’s no bone infection, but it’s not back to “normal” in terms of position, and it will never be.

            Thank you Wick!

Update: I was able to find a new vet that recently opened. They did X Rays and his toe is broken. Much like you said it will heal just in a funny position but the lil guy will live 😀
