so Mimi has in her pen two litter boxes.. the extra one she seems to really like to lay down and flop around in so we keep in in there for her. there’s really not much in it, just a few pieces of hay on the side of it for her to munch on when she’s in there. lately though, she’s been digging A LOT in it. it’s not like she’s digging at anything… she’s made a clearing in the box where she likes to lay and she’s literally just digging at the plastic. should we cover the bottom of it now with things for her to dig (blankets, shredded paper, etc.)? or do we need to find maybe a grass patch thing for her to dig on?

Is she spayed? She might be trying to dig for a den. What I did for my bunny was make a little sand box for him to dig around and play in the sand. Since then he hasn’t really dug anywhere else. It’s in the habitat section if interested but probably too big for a cage maybe
