I have been changing the bunnies over to the zupreem and I’ve noticed that Drue’s poops look different now.  They are a little bit bigger and a little bit lighter in color.  I would not say they are EGG shaped but they are a little flat…like as if someone made a ball out of clay and pressed down just a teensy bit on the top.  They’re definitely mostly round but they are flatter then usual.  Is this ok?  Is it just that different pellets make rabbits have different poops?  One of them was crushed in his cage and seemed a bit dry but I felt a few others and they feel like normal bunny poops.  Not wet, fully formed.  Does this sound like it’s normal?  Tucker’s look the same as always.  If he was not adjusting well to the new pellets I’d see like runny poops or something right?

I get so nervous with poop changes!

it might be from a slight change in the pellets composition. this is why it’s so important to switch over slowly, you never know how something will react with them. i’d keep an eye on the poops of both of them, make sure it doesn’t get runny, or very small.

Ok, yea it’s been slow but the pellet change is the only change I can think of so I am assuming that’s what it is.

So far there are no runny poops and if anything these poops are a little bigger then the other ones.  The only change I see for sure is that these are a little bit lighter in color.

Most likely that is the case – a difference in diet due to the new pellets.

But as far as poops go they sound normal?  Like not worrysome poops just different ones?

I noticed when I switched their pellets a while back the poops got a little bit smaller.  They seem to be bigger with the timmy pellets t hough.  I had switched them to alfalfa when they were shedding and Ruby was  young.  The poops got smaller.  Now I am switching back to timmy pellets and they may get bigger agian.  It does happen when changing foods.

BT makes a great point. different hays can make poops look different in color or size, so i’m guessing it might be the same with pellets.
