I just recently got my first rabbit. He’s a mini lop rescue about 2 years old. I know everything there is about rabbits needs and habits but never read much about their physical characteristics. I noticed that my bun has two different kinds of fur in patches all over. One type is incredibly soft and fluffy. The other is course but only on the ends. The first half inch of it is like the other but the very tips have a roughed texture. Is this normal? Is he inbetween winter and spring coats? I’m not quite sure but I wanted to make sure it was normal.

are the different furs layered, or in patches? I’m wondering if it’s undercoat and top coat you are noticing. If it’s patchy….hmmm could be shedding pattern?
