My bunny’s ok now but a couple weeks ago she wasn’t herself. It’s like I lost the connection that I had with her and she became a totally different bunny. She smelt like skunk all the time and she forgot her litter box training. I noticed the neutral smell on her forehead when I kiss her turned to something really off. She started smelling like a wild animal or something. She would chin everything too and the worst of all, she peed and pooped everywhere including my bed and pillow! Even with the door closed I can sense when she’s nearby because of her skunk-like odour.

I’m suspecting it had a lot to do with the Chinese broccoli. I gave her one leaf everyday. That’s the only thing that I changed in her diet. Now that the Chinese broccoli is completely out of her system, she’s back to normal. No more offensive skunky smell. She poops and pees where she’s supposed to (and only a few accidents). She also stopped chinning. That was cute when she did it but it doesn’t matter now cause she’s back to her old self.

Could it be the Chinese broccoli? Was she going through a phase? She’s a Flemish giant bunny and she turned 1 in May. I can see a small dewlap forming but it’s really small right now. Is it the dewlap that turned her wild?

Sounds more like puberty than broccoli! Is she spayed?

They can have hormonal surges, which make them smelly and territorial (chinning, marking, etc.).

I really think it’s likely hormones/puberty and the broccoli was just a coincidence
