I’ve narrowed the cause down to either one too many wee apple slices or a head of romaine that may have disagreed with Quantum’s digestion.  She doesn’t seem to be in any distress–is still normally active, eats and drinks well and is currently laying down stretched out and relaxed in the living room.  But…..her little bunny butt is a mess.  Mike and I did a “flip over” last night and I cleaned her up as best I could with a warm, wet washcloth.  She still seems to have the problem today; it’s not liquidy, but softer and stickier than normal.  All she’s had is lettuce (from a different source) last night and her normal timothy-based pellets and hay today.  Any other bunny bathing suggestions?  Any other diet suggestions to help “dry” things up?  She’s not getting any treats at all (other than a piece or two of lettuce–no sweets of any kind).

Sounds like your doing good. I find whole oats (A tsp or two) can help dry them up. You can also use cornstarch to bath them, just dust in on and brush the covered poops out of the fur. It’s kind of a dry bath -does not get the nice results of a real bum bath-but if she’s not dry yet no point washing her all the time, you can do a nicer bum bath when she’s dried up.

Thank you!  Both are great ideas.  I just fed her a few strawberry leaves to see if that would help dry things up.  If not, I’ll give her a small bit of oatmeal.  I’d be more worried, but she’s acting perfectly normally otherwise.  To be totally honest, I’m *still* worried, but I’d be worrieder.

Thanks again, Kokanee! Either the lack of apple or the strawberry leaves or both seemed to do the trick. She was leaving little bunny bombs all over the place (something about “her cup runneth over” or something like that). I’ll keep the oatmeal in mind, though, in case it happens again (knocking on wood). And she seems to be getting herself cleaned up a little at a time. I was dreading doing a partial bunny bath and Mike was on stand-by in case I had to have him stop on the way home to buy a blow-dryer! And wasn’t she soaking up the “oh, poor baby! You had a terrible time didn’t you, you poor, poor thing!” pets this morning!
