        Day One:

I was nervous about putting them together. I don’t want either of them to get hurt and I worried that I wouldn’t be fast enough. Hubby donned the gloves and I manned the squirt bottle. We’re doing 15 minute bonding sessions in the tub. So far there has been no violent aggression. No humping. No biting. Lots of grooming demands. Things seem to be going well and we’re optimistic but I’m still nervous! Do not want the babies to hurt eachother.

More updates to come as things progress.

           Sooooo…. Not as nervous now.

Second bonding session went off without a hitch. They groomed eachother and flopped over.

Thinking this might be an easy bond!

                Thank you Chacha and hunybuny!

They seem to be doing really well together!

                Day two:

We moved into the living room which is a semi-neutral area. Planned on doing short sessions in their x-pen throughout the day but they were doing so well we decided to do an all day bonding session. Penny humped Dexter a couple times. Dexter chilled and looked at me like, “What’s up with this chick? I’m just trying to eat lettuce”. After the humping they munched on hay together, groomed eachother, snuggled, and binkied.

I’m watching them nap together right now.

They are really cute together. My pair were a pretty easy bond as well. Sometimes it just works out that way.

                          Thanks everyone!

Have not updated this in a couple days.

Everything went really well in the semi neutral area. Moved them into the bunny room where both their hutches are and… We had our first taste of bunny aggression. My hubby was supervising them and had to break up a fight. No injuries occurred. When we put them together later they seemed a bit more dominance oriented than in the other rooms but no more fights. I have not seen them fight but expected things would get harder in the room. When things looked like they were getting heated I had an idea. The little black dog above is our boxer mix. The buns are not scared of her but pretty interested in what she’s about. I brought the pup into the room and had her lie down outside the x-pen. The dominance and aggression stopped while they took turns investigating the dog. After a little bit I shooed the pup out of the room and the buns went back to getting along great and stayed that way for the rest of the day.

I’m not sure if I did something wrong but it worked out right? We’ll see tomorrow. If they start being aggressive again we’ll take some steps back and return to semi neutral territory.

                          Still really optimistic!

                            They are BONDED!

Husband built their hutches so they would be easy to fuse together. The hutches are fused, bunny cuddles, grooming, and love all around.
