After checking out the Language of Lagomorphs on the Resource page, I found out that Louie loves to dance for me (i.e. grunt and run circles around me). However, from reading that blog and looking up the behavior of other rabbits, it seems like circling around a human usually only occurs as a greeting, but Louie does this constantly. I’m not concerned, just curious if anyone else’s bunnies do this, or if anyone knows what he might be trying to communicate. Any and all responses are appreciated!

My bunny Momo follows my boyfriend and I around all the time. She circles around us when we are getting her food or when we stand up randomly from sitting down doing other things. I think its just in their nature to just circle around people out of excitement or curiosity. My bunny is only 4 months so I know its not hormones.

Since your bunny loves to dance try interacting with her by giving treats and things when she does circle around you. Great time to bond with your bunny!! Your bunny must love you lots!! Encourage it and maybe even dance along LOL

Circling can just mean your bun is excited, but circling while grunting is often seen as the mating dance

That’s adorable! Thank you so much for your reply. When he does it, I usually wait for him to stop and then give him lots of pets!

At 4 months old, it’s very likely hormones

Buns generally “dance” for us when courting us. I don’t mean a few excited circles around our feet. I mean real enthusiasm
