I posted this earlier but didn’t get a response back…. any ideas

Her nail is curved but I had the vet trim her nails not too long ago and she said then to keep an eye on it, it looks like it is kinda flaky and really thick nail. I asked her what could cause it she said she didn’t know, it is such an ordeal to get her out of the house and take her to the vet b/c its a 30 min drive so there is a vet like 1 min from my house and i take her there to have her nails trimmed. does that help you anymore ? its hard for me to look at it, she will let me hold her sometimes and sometimes she doesn’t like it at all and trimming her nails is not easy.
        thanks for the help

Fungal infections or immune disorders can affect the nails- also previous trauma to a nail or nail bed can affect the nail.  It is hard to say what could be wrong with the nail- does it seem to be troubling her at all?

One of mine has a bad nail that is thicker and odd-shaped, and it peels. He had snagged it on my carpet as a baby bun, I remember when it happened.
Did your vet check her for any diseases that would affect the nails?
I know nail trimming can be tricky, my other rabbit, my mini rex, used to require the enlisting of a rabbit-restraint savvy assistant! Many repetitions later, he is much better and I can trim them by myself. Some rabbits trance very readily, have you tried it? My mini rex will not trance or stay in a burrito wrap, but I found another way of doing procedures with him: I will sit him up on my lap, with one hand propping him up under his chest, my thumb between his front legs. Then, before I start anything, I pretend this is a cuddle session, I nudge him with my face on the top of his head and between his ears, until he purrs and slumps a little, you can tell when they stop being tense. Then I trim his nails, but I bought the best kitten clippers I could find, ones that don’t slip out of my hand and that are of ideal size.

The vet did not check her for any illness but thats because she is not a bunny vet. The only reason I took her there was because it is like 1 min from my house and the bunny vet is 35 and daisy doesnt travel well. But she acts completely fine, it is her dew claw on one of her front feet. Im thinkin shes ok but just wanted a lil reassurance.

Dew claws are often snagged. Coould be that hers did, and that’s why the nail grows differently now.
