Daisy fell out of her carrier. I had gotten a new carrier for her and wanted to test it with her. I went to the couch to open it and take her out. I unzipped one side and before I could put it on the couch, Daisy jumped or fell on the floor. She fell from about 2-3 feet onto carpet. I didn’t see her fall but I did see her land. On her stomach with her limbs spread out. I don’t think she would have a back injury or anything, but I know bunnies are very fragile. This has happened before when she was a baby. I was carrying her and she somehow jumped from my arms about 4 feet onto hard wood floor onto her back. That time, we called the vet but didn’t bring her in because she was acting normal. She’s acting normal now, eating, urinating, hopping fine. Is there anything I should look out for? I feel terrible that my baby fell. I dont want to take her to the vet unless absolutely nessicary, as that would be stressful for her and us.

For as fragile as they are, bunnies sure are springy sometimes. If she is acting normal, eating, etc. then she is probably fine. You should examine her limbs to make sure everything looks/feels normal. Keep an eye out for any swelling, limp or favoring of a leg. Check her eyes to make sure the pupils are the same. Also check her mouth because sometimes bunnies will injure their mouth/teeth in a fall. If nothing looks concerning, then she is probably OK. If unsure about anything, it never hurts to call your vet.

As LBJ says, these things happen. And pretty much the only thing you can do is to check (palpate) her legs and paws and look at the front teeth, then observe. Observe gait, energy level, body stance, appetite and poop. If she stops eating/pooping, contact a vet and inform them of this accident.

The majority of buns that have these types of accidents come out of them just fine, but it’s still important to keep an eye, on the off chance that sth actually has gone wrong.
