Hello there,
So its recently confirmed that my rabbit had pasteurellla or upper something infection.
Well i thought he would die in a couple weeks but no, he looks much better now!
when i go outside now i NEVER see him discharging white things or making snuffing sounds, i also see his poops color is back to normal it was black in different shape, now its brown in normal shape! could it be he cured?? And i also have a second question, can i put my male rabbit(5months) with a cavia ( guinea pig) in the same hutch outside? ( it is big enough for 2 for sure).
I think he is cured cause i clean his hutch more and i also give him a lot of vitamines, anyways i followed you guys’ tips on binkybunny.
If he is cured, thank all the people that gave me tips, i really apriciate it, and love you guys.
Btw any of you could send me links to make a hommade rabbit toy, i gave him a toilet paper roller. but he is not interested in it, i put hay in it, and flowers he only picks out the flowers.
I hope your bun has successfully fought off his URI. You’ll have to be observant though, and look for white snot, in case it returns.
It’s not a good idea to keep a guinea pig and a rabbit together. A rabbit is much more feisty and could potentially hurt the guinea pig. Guinea pigs are also more sensitive to some bacteria that rabbits can carry without getting sick. And third, a guinea pig is active during the day when a rabbit wants to sleep.

No, you absolutely cannot house a rabbit and a guinea pig together. Rabbits can seriously hurt pigs (unintentionally), and not to mention they have different dietary requirements and of course communicate differently.

he is sprayed / neutred so yea..
Yes, sometimes a rabbit is kept with a guinea pig in a store, and I’d think that’s better for the animals than being all alone in a pet shop. Both Guinea pigs and rabbits love and crave company. The two species don’t make an ideal combo though. Here’s one article that mentions what to keep in mind if a bun and a Guinea pig is already living together and getting on well:

Here’s an article from Guinea Pig Today, the perspective is of course that of a Guinea pig enthusiast:

That is incredible irresponsible.
I’m glad your rabbit is feeling better!
However, would strongly advise against putting your rabbit in with a guinea pig! As Bam said, rabbits can carry diseases that guinea pigs cannot handle. Since you already know your rabbit had an infection, it is highly likely he could pass this on to the guinea pig! I’m sure you wound’t like to see another animal get sick after your rabbit is feeling better.
I’d also like to echo what people here have already said about rabbits and guinea pigs being different. I had piggies for years before I got a rabbit about 5 months ago and they have such different needs. For one thing, they need very different pellets, so it is unhealthy for them to share.
I know you care about your rabbit and you want him to be happy. While they enjoy company, its best for you to just give as much human love as you can until you feel ready to get him a rabbit companion!
I think it’s easy to get ahead of yourself and get caught up in the excitement of getting new pets. But you have asked for advice and you have been given honest answers yet you are coming across as though the advice doesn’t matter. You seem to have already set your mind on doing it anyway. Your being given advice from experienced pet owners and they are saying it to ensure your pets have a positive outcome. By looking at your posts it sounds like you have your hands full with your current rabbit. So maybe you need to question wether getting a guinea pig will improve your situation or just add more difficulty to it. Is it for the benefit of you or for your rabbit? I don’t want to sound disrespectful I’m just trying to say honestly how your situation seems to be coming across.
Ok, i won’t get a gunea pig. But i wish i could do something in order to make him happy, i go outside and play with him but hey he is lonely :/

Bring him inside and get him a rabbit friend.

Agreed. Even if another rabbit is out of the question for now. At least you can have more contact with him and this might improve his mood.
I am not allowed to bring him inside, but i can in my garage and we are getting a bunny friend
.
