How is a cup of veggies measured? Should it be loose or packed down?

One more question..  I’ve seen on sites listing calcium amounts in different veggies list all the veggies by cup, but romaine lettuce is measured by 100g. Is 100g of lettuce considered to be equivalent to 1 cup?

        Thank you!

I am usually not very exact when I give my bunnies their veg, if I am trying to do 1 cup I usually just do a big handful of chopped up romaine. I don’t think you need to be very concerned about getting an exact measure so much as making sure that your bunny has a nice handful of dark leafy greens daily to give him some of the vitamins that he needs. For my bunnies, the amount varies depending on the veg I get at the store that day, I have 8 bunnies so I will chop up one head of romaine and split it between them all, or get two bunches of parsley, or cilantro. This usually equates to somewhere between 0.5 and two cups daily, and it seems to have worked very well for my bunnies so far. As to your question about the 100 grams – I am not quite sure, probably because my elementary measuring system of “1 big handful” !

Loosely packed veggies. I know it is kind of hard to tell when you’re first starting out. Measure it out (pack it a little – a LOT fits in one cup) then dump it out. After you have done this you can eyeball it. If you have a food scale, 8 oz. = one cup and you can do it that way.
