I’ve made a pimpin’ bunny condo – using the cubes i found at target – half the box had those darn 3 inch squares – but we’ve utilized them too – offset them and doubled them up with cable ties.

the condo is two grids wide by 3 grids long and sits inside of a 30 x 48 inch dog crate tray.

I also have a  scatterless litterbox in there – the kind that goes in the corner and has a grid on top that the poops can fall through.

My question is I use the oxbow wheat pellets in the litterbox and then put hay in one corner on top of the grid as I am trying to littertrain these babies - then in the rest of the condo area I have a layer of the oxbow wheat pellets and then on top of that a layer of the ultra carefresh stuff.

Is this correct for baby bunnies or am I turning their whole condo into a litterbox?  I think they need something on the floor of the condo and they still dont have the litter box use perfected – so…  am I on the right track?

You only want litter in the litterbox. On the floor you can use grass mats, fleece blankets, rag rugs, cardboard (this doubles as a chew toy). For littertraining it may be easier to set the box up so their bottoms are on the litter. The feel of the litter may help them recognize that this is where they need to potty.

I went home last night and took out all of the litter and carefresh that was on the floor – cleaned everything up with natures miracle and then put down an old blanket.  I have 2 litterboxes so i put those in 2 corners and used old plastic shoe boxes  for the other 2 corners filled them each with carefresh and hay and we’ll see what happens today.  thanks so much for the advice!  I LOVE this site!
