Just thought I would share this with you guys…

CSA’s are Community Supported Agricultural boxes.  Basically, you paid for a membership ($20-$30/wk) and you get a box of different variety of organic fruits and veggies every week.  It’s normally a portion to feed a family of 2-4.  I have been using this service since I dont have the time/space to grow a garden for my buns.

It’s nice to get fruits/veggies that are locally harvested and to eat it within a week of harvesting it.  The things in the box depends on the season. Right now, I’ve been getting strawberries and different lettuces.

If you want to find a closest CSA near you, go to http://www.localharvest.org/csa/

If you are in the Monterey area, go to http://www.jporganics.com/index.php.  This is the company that I am signed up with. Unlike the other one, they dont have a contract so you can look at the things available for this week and purchase it or skip that week.

Great Idea … and all their stuff is organic  …. online shopping is so practical.

I am still one for going to the shops to buy food/veggies … however, I support the local green grocer and buy from him.  Coles and all the big food chain stores are so expensive and their veggies/fruit are crap … in comparision the local green grocer’s produce is great value for money and generally better quality too.

There are six different locations here in San Diego! Wow! I love living here!
However, I have this thing about having to see the fruit and veggies… I don’t know why I can’t order anything online. I have to see things in order to buy them.
I envy people who can shop online… I wish I could! I greatly dislike clothes shopping, but I force myself once a year… bleh!
Maybe I can bring myself to try this fruit/veggie thing out, too… Thank you for that website!
