Not sure if this is the right place for my question. I hope so. I have been having some issues with Honeydew. I took her to the vet and she asked if I still have CC from the last time Honeydew was sick. I said that I do and she told me to feed it to her. The CC I have is from 2019 thus my question. How long is CC good for? Should I get a new package from the vet?

I would get a new one.

I agree w/ getting a new one. For the future, I would only use older CC if it was the dried powder and stored in a freezer while not in use. This will elongate it’s life!

Thank you both for this. I ordered the new one and on the day it arrived Honeydew started eating again lmao! Such a rabbit thing to do! How long will Critical Care be good for without opening it?

I’m glad to hear she started to eat again!

You can store the unopened CC in the freezer and it will keep way beyond the expiration date on the package. (You can keep an opened package of CC in the freezer too to extend the shelf life). Hopefully you’ll never need to use it, but it’s great to have some at home for emergencies. A rabbit might very well get a tummy ache on a major holiday when there’s no way of getting hold of CC.
