        Hi everyone!

Okay so this isn’t my first bunny, but Wilbur is the first bunny I’ve adopted as a baby (don’t worry, she’s a rescue ). She is 10 weeks old so she’s not ready to be spayed yet but I’ve heard that it’s good anyways to start litterbox  training. Other than the normal litterbox training instructions does anyone have any ideas or tips from their own experiences in litterbox training babies? I’m kind of stumped about what I can do for exercise time and what I should line the floor with, she doesn’t chew towels or anything like that but switching the towel for a clean one is creating a lot of laundry. Oh, and any other tips about baby bunnies in general (nail clipping, anything I should be getting her used to, diet, molding a good personality if that’s possible, habbitat, ect…) would be greatly appreciated  Thanks!

        She is absolutely crazy

Put out more than one litter box, for starters. It helps if they have options

For nail trims, I would wait a bit. Baby bun nails are really too fragile to trim, wait until she’s 3 to 4 months old for that.

For exercise time and floor coverings… is she peeing on the towels? If so, that could be solved by not having towels, and having more litter boxes out.

Personality, really the only thing you can do is spend alot of time with her. Get her used to you being around, not necessarily interacting with her, but having your presence there. Just sit with her, read a book watch TV, let her explore you without the fear of being picked up or anything. She will learn to trust you fast that way, and possibly get you some snuggles and such in time

Feed her inside or right over her litter box so poopies in the box will be inevitable. It sometimes takes babies to learn longer, but they get it eventually! Try to clean up her messes as soon as you can so her “sprinkled” waste outside the litter box isn’t as noticeable to her (but the potty IN the litter box IS).

To mold a good personality, make every experience she has with human beings positive. Unpleasant things, such as nail trims need to involve LOTS of treats and praise. When you hold her, there should always be something in it for HER rather than just petting and cuddling for you. It’ll be a good start for her if you teach her “Good girl!” (treat) “Good girl!” (treat) that way, she’ll more likely than not perform positive behaviors in order to earn that “Good girl!” (because when paired with treats at first, it conditions the rabbit to release endorphins at “Good girl!”).

Your bun is adorable, have fun with her! A baby bunny can be challenging, but it’s such a wonderful adventure.

Oh baby bunnies, I love it!  Good advice from both Monkeybun and Earthbunny, I think they covered it.  I found litterbox training with my baby really easy, she just kind of did it.  When she became sexually mature that’s when all hell broke loose .

She won’t need her first nail trim until she’s spayed so don’t worry about that.  Till then, just work on getting her used to people.  I have children so I would leave the TV on and keep Rosy in the living room with us so she got used to the noise and activity.  Babies are really adaptable so I prefer to get them used to the environment they will be in.  I knew it would be impossible to keep my kids quiet, but very possible for Rosy to get used to us.  It made everybody’s life easier.

Thank you all for the advice-very helpful! There have been no pee accidents today and way less other accidents so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I’ll hold off on the nail clipping. I’m getting to know her better by allowing her to run around a bunny proofed room (no accidents when running!) and she is warming up to me, it is so hard to resist the urge to scoop her up and cuddle with her . Thanks again!

*update* seemingly 100% potty trained now, only took 5 days!
