I’m not saying this to make anyone mad or anything along that line, but why do you get on craigslist if you are just going to get upset about it? I have seen alot of posting on here about rabbits on craigslist. Sometimes, they post the animals on there because they want to give them a better home….

Again, I’m not trying to upset anyone, but why do you keep looking on there if you are going to get upset about the posting? I got my dog from someone on craigslist and we love her to death…… So why do you look on there if you are going to get mad at the people posting?

I’m definitely guilty of looking at craigslist.. but I normally look at hamsters and rats. I don’t really know, I try to tell myself that I’m absolutely NOT getting another pet and that it’s just dumb to look at craigslist, but it doesn’t work. You’re totally right though – I just feel bad for the animals on there that seem like they aren’t in the best homes at the moment.

I think people have a fascination with looking at things for sale, and getting upset, and wanting to do something about it. I hate Kijiji, but I seem obsessed with just LOOKING at the ads…some strange glitch in human beings…lol…

It’s an addiction. I can’t stay away, I have to know how many rabbits in the area are losing their homes.

I only go on when someone needs help flagging down an ad I get near tears any time I see roadkill, so I definitely can’t handle craigslist!

Weeeeellllll….I must confess. I have a Blog that mocks craigslist postings….specifically the Men seeking Women in the “casual encounters” section.

I know, I know. Somewhat obscene, but it started when My best friend emailed me a posting with a TERRIBLE picture and I emailed back saying “What on EARTH is this man trying to say with this photo?”

It’s called Desperately Seeking…Something. And be forewarned. There are naked men. Lots of naked men. In terribly unattractive poses. So if you decide to go and look ( I’ll let you goggle it) just know that  ahead of time.

But I never look at the pets. The abandoned rabbit and abandoned tail-less cat are enough for this home…

you *need* to go on craigslist cuz a lot of ads just need to be flagged for removal. that way at least they can’t advertise the poor rabbits on there for meat or snake food.

nothing against normal ads where ppl looking for a good home. that’s different.

for me its not upsetting.  at least *try* to help some innocent souls.

there need to be some kind of craigslist/kijiji police.

so if you ever come across a ‘meat rabbit’/’snake food’ or other weird/strange ad please let us know.

i understand your point entirely. it is a very difficult thing for a lot of people, but it’s almost like a trainwreck, while you hate to look, you can’t look away. i hate going on there. i was emailing people and making suggestions for awhile, but i was getting nasty responses so i stopped. i try to avoid the site completely.

Like everyone said it’s an addiction. I usually go on to see if their are any ads when people need some help or need to be informed about something. Like most of them need mental help, but like they need help rehoming pets or are looking for a pet I direct them too people that would be interested in their pet or who have the pet they’re looking for.

I would rather look at Petfinders than Craigslist – I never look at Craigslist.

I love to look at petfinder…….I studied it everyday when I knew I had to bring a bunny to find a mate. Then it was strange to walk into the sanctuary and see those bunnies moving around, I was so used to seeing their photos.
