I got a covered litterbox the other day.  I was very excited to try it out as my bunnies seem to kick out litter and poos when then jump out.  Also I wanted a way to keep their hay more contained (aka not getting everywhere).

        I devised this solution:

Arduina is modeling how it works (she’s a camera/attention hog).

I zip tied a wire paper/letter organizer to the top of the litterbox lid, one side using metal clips to the zip tie loop so that I can add more hay.

At first they didn’t really like it since they were use to having a free for all pile of hay. This takes a little more work to get, but less mess on my part.  I hope they get use to it.

I love this! More work for them, but still accessible enough, means more stimulation for them. One thing I am wondering is if hay fines fall into their eyes?

That is ingenious… I suppose if they did get it in their eyes it could be adapted to have the rack on one side. It’s brilliant.
