I’ve been reading up on rabbit breeds lately, and there is a rabbit called the vienna blue, white and black. It’s mostly wishful thinking , but could Vienna be part vienna? I know she’s a lionhead-rex, but she came from a situation with over a hundred un neutered rabbits, so she could have a lot of breed history

          It does seem possible.
I think many bunnies are sold or abandoned when an attempt to breed, or cross-breed, has not met with the owner’s satisfaction. So you may find many bunnies that are carrying a strain from breeding attempts, causing a resemblance to “pure’ breds.

Vienna was from an old woman, who couldn’t cope with her rabbits, and kept them in bird cages and fed some on bird seed. Thankfully she was only a very young baby when she was rescued, I don’t know if that woman was a breeder though, or if she was deliberately breeding. Thank you for the information .

I’ve never heard of that breed before. Interesting.

The blue coloring isn’t limited to the Vienna blue breed – it’s caused by a dilution gene which can occur in pretty much any breed. She really looks very much like a lionhead x rex to me, with the mane and short fur, so I think it’s likely that’s what she is. Her actual color is called blue otter (the otter part refers to the tan coloring around her eyes, on her ears, etc) and it occurs in a number of breeds (including rex)

              She’s very pretty!

She’s beautiful! I’ve also never heard of that breed before. She def looks Rexy with that gorgeous plush fur and the added beauty of a mane.

What a great looking rabbit you have! I’ve never seen the a lionhead with plush fur like that before.

Those situations she and the rabbits were in is too common and terribly sad. I’m happy she found a home with you.

She’s very pretty – not sure about the Vienna thing or not.

Thanks for the colouring name, I’ve been wondering if she was part otter, her colouring ( and my knowledge of rabbit breeds ) has changed as she got older, when we first had her she was mainly blue.
