Yay for Sophie!  Our guys love their Cottontail Cottage, although they have been doing some unauthorized renovations the last few weeks.  I’ll have to check with the city to see if they need permits.  They appear to be intent on removing the second floor, one bite at a time.

I really wanted one (I mean Sophie wanted one!) after reading the post here in toy land. I finally broke down and paid $20 something for her cardboard mansion. I think I am going to call it Sophie Graceland. Osprey- Busy Bunny had some replacement parts for the unauthorized renovations that can be purchased. Soph has a cardboard fetish and loves to be high up so this should be VEEEERRRRRY interesting. I can barely wait the two weeks to get it since they are backed up after the holidays. grrr…

that’s so funny Theresa because we have been known to spend a Saturday monring making a cardboard village for Sophie! She loves it so much that that’s why I bought Cottontail Cottage. I need something more (cough cough) cosmetically pretty in the living room area though instead of willow baskets, and cardboard boxes of all shapes and sizes spread all over the place!

Aww your Sophie’s gonna love her new Cottage. Mine got their Cottage months ago and they still love it. Yesterday Apollo climbed to the top floor and flopped and then fell asleep, it was so cute. They chew on their other ordinary box toys, but not their Cottage; I think they want to keep it nice looking   I took this the first day they had it; Apollo ran up to the top and then back down and dead bunny flopped in front of it

And my cat likes it too! You can see I added on to it with other boxes, they played on that constantly, but it took up so much space and it was kind of an eyesore, so I took it down eventually.

I gave my cottontail cottage to my foster Mayberry, and she loooves it even though she is too big and her feet hang out the window when she sleeps on the second floor (which happens to be her fave location in the cottage). have you gotten it yet?

FedEx just delivered it. It’s here! It’s here. How sad is that my Friday night plans are going home, opening a bottle of wine, listening to Michael Buble and putting this thing together?!? Can’t wait to set up Sophie’s new playland.

I’m gonna be so mad if I am more excited about the new cottage than she is. She’ s so hard to impress. Such a diva! Bottle of Chardonnay here I come…this thing better not be difficult to put together!

Tab A in slot B type stuff, not too hard.  My kids put ours together (8 and 9 years old).

good to know about the a&b slots. I helped my cousin pit together my goddaughter’s barbie hosue for christmas and there were extra peieces. That’s never good.

So, it’s together. She won’t go near it! I put her in the bottom of it with some treats and she ran through the other side and hasn’t looked back. Gonna see how tonight progresses with it just being set up in the normal play area. Other than that, any idea for introducing this large cardboard house to her? She normally would romp right over and dig in, so to speak…..but nothing yet!

It took our guys a few days to get used to the ramps.  We bribed them by putting treats on the ramps and upper floors to get them used to it.  We also put them up on the top a few times to get them used to enjoying the view.

Oh yes, she is quite the lookout from the top. I put some hay up there and a blanket for her to rearrange, and presto! she began tearing away at the cardboard (it’s her fetish, she looooves cardboard). I guess I will just keep trying to get her up the ramps. Do your ramps look really steep though? Mine look like a slide almost. She ran into the bottom and zoomed in and out so i don’t think she’s scared now. It will just take some getting used to! Glad to know your bunnies didn’t love it right away too!

That’s not sad!  Sounds relaxing to me!    Of course, my partying crazy days are pretty much over.  I love having a glass of wine, and relaxing.  one of my favorite things to do now.    And I found my hubby when I was happily single.   He messed that all up!

I keep myself so busy with the two jobs that I don’t have time to notice my singlehood status. I am 26 now, and around 24 I got the maternal kicks. Sophie filled in the maternal instinct kicks…. Seriously, all my cousins bring their playpen, toys and kids to camp, well, so do I, except I bring my playpen, toys and bunny!

Now that little Miss Scaredy pants has mastered the ramps, she is LOVING the cottage. So is Mommy, since it keeps the naughty little bunny away from Pottery Barn furniture!!!!

Yay, go go Sophie! The ramps are a bit steep, but they get used to them. Even our tiny 2 pound dwarf manages to skitter up to the top. One of our fosters has a huge 10 pound bunny that uses a Cottontail Cottage. The things shakes and shimmies with the giant bunny in it, but it stays together.

I got a cottage for my two bonding bunnies so there would be something neutral for them to hide in during their sessions. Our baby girl loves it! The other day she managed to escape from her x-pen (I have no idea how. she must have jumped!? Although she is a 3lb Holland Lop and the pen is 40" high!?). I got home from work and began manically searching the flat for her- I looked every where! Then I heard this scuffling coming from the cottage and there she was on the second floor happily washing her face! Her x-pen now has a top to it!!! : )

Bunnies are amazing escape artists, aren’t they?  Our DJ escaped once by pushing the X-Pen apart at the bottom where the two ends come together and squeezed out that way.  One of the volunteers at The Haven has a bunny that is so determined to escape that she finally had to buy a big dog kennel and keep him in that when she is not home.  He either jumped or pushed his way out of every other kind of housing.

Medusa wouldn’t go on the upper levels on hers until I put towels on the bottom (she also will not step foot on wood floor or anything slidey). The first time she tried to jump to the top she jumped so high she shot through the top and over, fell on the ground.

Now she likes to sleep on top at night, but only at night, not during the day. Maybe because its warmer?
