        Hello all.

My Chumby loved her first cotton tail cottage which I purchased 3 years back.

We have since moved and I decided it was time to get rid of it as it was all tore up and such.

I bought a couple 2 months back and put one together earlier this week and it doesnt seem right. The second floor ramp seems to be very steep- too steep for my rabbit to get up on ! That and there doesnt seem to be much space for her to even make the jump. Pics>

Now Im not sure what the deal is. Maybe she’s scared or not comfertable as we just moved into a new house. But I watched her try to make the jump a couple times and she has yet to make it.

She never had this problem with the old one.

I took it apart to switch the floors thinking maybe there was an error in the cuts but they are both the same (as they should be).

        Any help plz thx

That doesn’t even look like a ramp and very crowded too. Might be an error as you suspect. I have not owned a cotton tail cottage but I would look to see if you can change it by cutting and adding some parts.

I got a Cottage for Christmas. I’m not sure if the ramps are the same as yours but mine are pretty steep too. Olivia and Bindi don’t use the ramps, they just jump. Stormy hates the cottage and never goes on the second floor.

I have one that I had to modify a little to fit my rabbits. I cut off the ramps in the inside, the floors were sturdy enough without the ramp flap hooked through the side. My rabbits did not have enough room to turn themselves to get in front of the ramp to jump.

This is the first complaint I’ve had about these  so I need to contact the creator. In the meantime, hang tight, and I’ll keep you updated.

Chumby — I’ve also emailed you about solving the problem through us directly since you ordered through us.

Just talked to the creator and there have been no changes in the design, but they do sell some things that accompany the ramp that may make it easier.

They do sell corrugated cardboard flooring for this called the Wavy Wonder on their own site (catsrabbitsandmore) — we sell that too just in a larger size (meant for the  Ton of Fun Bun Run), but it can be cut to size.

There is also an outside ramp available that isn’t as steep.

Some people have used carpet —Here are some good photos to of what other people did: http://www.catsandrabbitsandmore.com/cottontail_cottages (scroll down to see the carpeted ramps)

                  Hope that helps!

Chumby – I’m also emailing you directly to find out what you would prefer to do with your purchase.
