We took them for a car ride again today- and today they were perfect angels- so squabbles or fights at all and they both looked semi relaxed (not petrified).  They moved around in the carrier without starting the next squabble.

When I got home we decided to bring some fresh snow in since it is snowing.  We took the snow up to the bath tub and added the bunnies (the bath tub has not stopped Cotton from fighting before- not scary enough).   I put them both in the snow- and Schroeder started humping Cotton!  This is the first bunny humping that I have seen in attempting to bond Cotton-Penny (gave up on that)- and then Cotton to Schroeder.  I had to gently stop him a few times when I could tell that Cotton had enough.  But I felt like this must be some type of break-through- as I have never seen humping or grooming.  And Cotton tolerated him mounting her.  (I had a feeling since the day we brought Schroeder home that he wanted to hump her but was too afraid).  He wants to be a “lover” not a fighter.  Though I am surprised that Cotton allowed him to dominate her- as she is usually the bully.

Sounds like things are progressing well today! And who woulda thought – just add snow to the bonding process  – it helps them cool off their tempers! :0)

          Keep us updated.
