I have had my rabbit for almost a year now, his name is Lincoln. He has been neutered for 9 months. We recently got a 9 week old baby bunny. I know it’s not ideal or recommended but that’s the way our situation played out. We have been following all the bonding tips, separate living areas but close enough to see/smell eachother and small “dates”. The baby, Thor, is too young to be neutered, but he will be when he becomes of age. Lincoln humps him almost constantly! I know it’s a dominance thing, but this much?! Lincoln isn’t aggressive or nippy, just humping(sometimes he grabs his fur while humping but has never bit and broke skin). But occasionally they will lay next to eachother and cuddle up. For the most part it’s just always humping!

My question is, when will Lincoln stop humping him?!? When Thor gets neutered?

No dates. Only do bunny dates after the small one is spayed/neutered and healed. He is reacting to the baby’s hormones and will continue to for as long as the baby is still intact. He may get worse, and the baby may start to fight back. This is why you keep them separated until after both are fixed

I agree with Mikey. No dates at this time. They will need to be kept apart, with no physical contact until Thor has been neutered and about a month has passed since his surgery. They can stay in the same room, but just can’t be together. As the bunny matures, fights could start to break out at any time. Rabbits can severely injure each other if they fight. Rabbits can also hold grudges. If a rabbit has been bitten or feels constantly intimidated, he may want nothing to do with the other rabbit after that.
