Hi everyone,
I noticed yesterday that Pancakes’ right eye was looking very red and swollen in the inside corner (the corner nearest her nose). Her left eye, although not swollen was also looking pinker than usual. She was eating, pooing and behaving normally.
She had her vaccinations done in October and they checked her over including her teeth as well.
So I took her to the vet first thing yesterday morning and she said she had an eye infection probably conjunctivitis. She gave me some eye ointment for her to be administrated twice a day which I have been doing, so she has had the cream put in four times now.
Although her eyes do not see to be any worse they do not seem to be improving. I guess it may be too early for them to kick in, but I have noticed her husbun has been grooming her more reguarly than usual, I’m worried he might be licking it all off.
Has anyone had experience of eye infections in rabbits, how long until I can see an improvement in her eyes?
Oh by the way she is still behaving completely normally in herself, eating, drinking and pooing normally.
Thanks for any advice guys. x
