  Thanks guys for all of your awesome help and support! At one point that stupid dog was managing to get just enough votes to stay ahead of us, and I was sure we had no chance. Lots of people from all over the world contributed to this, it is quite amazing to think about the time people have invested in my picture (actually taken by my daughter!) and our rescue here in California.
  
  I have not yet heard from the petsource.org people, so I do not know how to proceed. i really hope they will allow me to give the award to The Rabbit Haven.

  I’ve been in and out lately what with school, so I hadn’t actualyl heard about this contest– so this is the first time I’m seeing this adorable tiny bunnies! I wish I could have voted. They’re such cute little morsels– do you know what kind they are? I’ll be adopting a bunny who looks like a grown up one of these in a few days, so I’m curious. But congratulations! You and these little puffballs deserved to win. n___n

  HJSoulma, those two baby bunnies are Dwarf Hotots. You can read about their story and see lots of pictures of them and their mother on this thread.

  Osprey, I think I might contact them myself since they didn’t even notify you, I find that rather odd. Maybe the ugly dog picture person is objecting.

  if the runner-up is objecting… what would happen? i wonder if there could be a course of action if they do not deliver on this.

  I wouldn’t put too much faith in any runner-up objecting as anyone close to us would have also had to have been doing the same thing as us.

  yes…..that is ODD!! Anyway, they had better fulfill their promises regardless or they will have a bunch of mad bunny people in their hare! (couldn’t resist). Congrats OSPREY!!!

  I called the people at petsource.org today to find out what I needed to do to claim my prize. They said that my information and The Rabbit Haven’s information has been sent on to their Public Relations company and I should be hearing from them in a couple of days. It sounds like this is really going to happen!

  I got email today from the PR people. They asked me for a little information about the bunnies in the picture, and I gave them the whole story of Marilyn and her rescue. I guess they’ll do a press release or something based on the information.

  Yeah!!! I bet Rabbit Haven is very happy too! That’s just awesome. Not only did you do a great thing for Rabbit Haven, but this really also helped spread the word that Rabbits are important too. I think many people associate shelters with just cats and dogs, so I think this also helped with further education and perception. Way to go!
