Condo building tonight!

So I know I’ve asked about this way long ago and you’re probably wondeirng why it hasn’t been built yet and it first it was a monetary issue but then I just screwed up measurements and stuff several times. But I’m hopeful tonight is the night Bunjamin gets his new abode. I’ve enlisted my dad and my bf and had my dad bring his tools from home. Me and Andrew went out last night and found mdf board with a nice smooth surface so I don”t have to add flooring. I bought door mats for gripping purposes and from experience those are the only type of carpet/cloth bunjamin won’t chew. I’ve bought hinges for the top of the cage for cleaning and spring and latch for the door so I can keep it open or keep it closed (no more icky ramp stuff yay!) And of course the necessities- grids and zip ties I’ve been stocking up on for months.

So if you skipped that boring paragraph, here’s what I really need help on. I have two locations to chose from as to where to build the condo- The 4 ft wall in middle of bedroom or the back of walk in closet (its an almost 6′ by 8′ closet) Now the door to the closet is always left open and its where all his big toys are (maze haven and tunel) and our bedroom is where me and my boyfriend spend most of our time (our computers are in the bedroom )

Here’s my pro-con list: Advantage- The closet he’ll have more personal space and we’ll have more space in the main room. Disadvantage- it’s slightly less social since we don’t go in there except for to be with him or occassionally get clothes.
Advantage- the bedroom, we wouldn’t have to worry about his social happiness. Disadvantage- more space taken up AND he might get excited and want out everytime I get up in the middle of the night since it’s right next to bathroom I hate doing that to him, the go back to sleep false alarm thing.

I feel you guys deserve reward because that was a lot to read…

My rabbit is in my bedroom and she actually gets me up in the middle of the night because she wants out. I never get up at night I do ignore her when she starts carrying on. You do want the rabbit to be in a spot where he wont beforgotten and where it is social. Your bedroom might be a better option. My bedroom and the upstairs was a great place for me because it was so easy to bunny proof the area to. I posted on here yesterday pictures of my buns cage check it out. You want to think of that also what will be easier to bunny proof. Hope things work out!

thank you! the bedroom and closet are both bun proof but we decided to put the condo out in the bedroom part just for more socialization for him and easier maintenance.

Awhhh he is cute! He looks so tiny next to that box.

My bunnies have run of like half of the house but at night I close the baby gate so they’re stuck in my room. I do hear them sometimes at night but it doesn’t bug me too much and I like knowing they’re there with me and I think they like being with me too (I hope).

cute little bunny you have.  I’m lucky, I have a rec/party/family room in our walk out basement and my girls are there, the walk out is set up for them to get outside when weather allows.  I’m there a lot and they have large spaces. they love the various levels, they are always jumping from level to level.  Each has a preference.  I open their cages up to the room if they aren’t able to get out on the patio.

oh wow what a nice setup! The first night Bunjamin kept making lots of noise and we still need to add a few touches to the condo for my preference (and possibly redo the shelf when I get more money- two saws broke on us and its not exactly what I wanted.) But last night, he was pretty darn good! I think we’re all get along fine. His cage used to be in our bedroom before too except now its by bathroom instead of door out of room. And thanks guys, he is super small compared to almost everything! But he’s also quite brave lately.
