        I said I’d keep you all posted…

I started Colin on the Levofloxacin tablets two weeks ago, grinding them up then syringe-feeding them in a little warm water and honey. Colin’s pretty good about taking the meds. And he’s really improved since he started taking them! His abcesses (he had three when I started) have gone down and two of the wounds have been healing over nicely. The one that is still open is letting out pus still, but it’s not sore to the touch any more. I’m hopeful though that in another week his face will be completely better. There have been no unwanted side-effects as far I can tell. On the contrary, he’s been back to his old self, happy and inquisitive, binkying around the house and giving me lots of licks! I’m so relieved. He’s such a tough little guy (basically a Chinese meat rabbit!) so I think he’ll be OK now.

Thank you all for your kind advice and support!

        Ali

I’m glad to hear he is doing better! He does sound like a tough little rabbit. It also sounds like he really understands how much you’ve helped him if he is grooming you. I’ve been a bunny slave for years and have very rarely gotten any bunny kisses!

              Thanks MooBunnay

Yes, Colin is a very licky rabbit, he grooms me for ages! Like I say, I don’t know his breed, he pretty much looks like a wild rabbit or a hare to me. Our other rabbit is a lionhead and hardly ever gives me licks.

His face isn’t completely healed but he still seems much happier. Two weeks on the antibiotics now, maybe I should take him off them, but I’m not sure…
