For the past few days Merry has been acting like a little brat.  She’s been especially fond of squeezing in between boxes, etc. – anything that’s a tight space.  This morning when I was in the other room feeding the fish, I heard her scrabbling around.  I figured that she was just rattling the NIC grids again, but when I went into the dining room I found her squished in between the wall and the radiator, and she couldn’t get out!  Now, I’ve had this radiator surrounded by hardware wire (I think that’s what it’s called – it’s sturdier than chicken wire) and it’s never been a problem, but I guess she’s been working on a way around that because she was inside the wire!

Luckily I was able to loosen the wire a little bit and she ran around the front of the radiator to the other side (where she got stuck in between the radiator and the wire again – but she wasn’t on the floor – it was disturbing to see my little baby like that!)  At any rate, I got her free.  So today is an x-pen only day – I guess she knows what happened because she didn’t complain when I locked her in.

I’m SO thankful that the radiator wasn’t on!!

Glad she’s fine. Maybe a NIC cube fence surrounding the radiator will prevent another attempt.

That’s the other thing about this story – there IS a partial NIC fence surrounding it.  She must have nosed that out of the way too.  I think I’ve got a burrower on my hands – time to find new toys!

ughhhh I’ve had a close call with nikka before too!! so scary, I’m so glad merry is okay! nikka was pretty shook up after her incident and she doesn’t try to mess with her x pen like she did that day, so hopefully merry learned her lesson too.
