Has anyone tried training their bunny using the “Clicking With Your Bunny” book that Binky Bunny sells?  I’ve been eyeing it, but now that I’m pretty sure I want to try it I’m waiting for the clicker to come back in stock so I can get both at one time.

If you have used it, to what success?  I would mostly be happy just getting him to willingly go into his carrier.  I’m sure there are other potentially helpful tricks that could be learned, too.  I’d love to hear anyone’s personal experience.

Yup lots of people have tried it. I don’t personally have the book but did go to a seminar on clicker training. I’ve taught beg and jump through the hoop. We’re perfecting it. Training rabbits is a little slow as you can’t give them too many treats

Enter the keywords ‘clicker’ and ‘bunny’ on youtube and you’ll see a host of videos of awesome rabbit tricks-it’s so inspiring, I’ll be you’ll be training your buns in no time!

I didn’t do clicker training to train Sophie. I used a water bottle, like a cat, and treats. Sophie comes on command, knows “go night night” to go back in her house, begs, and stays. I had the hardest time getting her away from wires when she was younger so I would say “Sophie, no no no” and spray her body with the water bottle. Eventually, I would only have to say “Sophie no” and she would immediately dart int he opposite direction of whatever was tempting her little chewing antics. When training with treats, it doesn’t have to be a large treat everytime. I would give her a half a raisin when she came on command and mix it up occassionally with an apple slice or something equally yummy.

i did start clicker training with the book (then i adopted a second, then i bonded, then my son went to kindergarten, then i started school again, then… well, i’ve been busy… lol)

i have very limited time right now to do training in a quiet atmosphere. i plan on starting it again, someday. i was able to get my mini rex responding to the clicker before i had to stop. what i did for treats: i would break off individual parsley leaves, or bits of stem, cut raisins in half or thirds, cut matchstck carrots into 5 or 6 tiny pieces. i have even used just an individual food pellet as a treat.

I just bought the book for $2 and bought a clicker at petco, but it’s a box clicker so it’s a little loud. I’m going to start. Right now, I’m getting him used to the clicker by clicking when I put food, hay, salad or treats in his cage. We’ll see what happens. I’m a little skeptical knowing what I know about Ruffles, but we’ll see if I can get him to do some fun tricks and things.
