Thinking of getting this playpen. Click here to view it.

The main reason I like it is it has a nice floor cover. Click here to see.

Do you guys think 29″ is high enough? Is this cheaply made.. anyone have one? The price is pretty nice.

I had one of those for my ferrets. The liner is a nice, sturdy canvas. It stains easily but I would imagine that it wouldn’t be too bad with bunnies. I liked mine.

            thanks for the info

i guess if the liner starts getting too icky, i can just replace it in a year. it’s only $11 online.. not too bad.

I have the clean living cage and playpen plus I bought the extra level. My mini rexes are pretty well litter trained and on tile floor with washable carpets so I never really used the liner. I like the cage because it is easy to clean. Sometimes I take the whole cage out and hose it off while I leave the buns in the playpen. The only thing I wonder about is the size of your rabbit.? Mine are 2 minis so and they have the extra level so will your bun have enough room? Is it a single bun and what size? I will one day buy a xpen because they are sturdier but I do like the cage for the rare instance when I need to have the buns put in it for awhile. I also use the playpen to block off and area and they have the rest of the room to binky and play in. Over all it has been a worthwhile investment.

                i have 2 holland lops. they’re small, about 3 or 3.5lbs a piece.

they recently sexually matured and lost their litterbox habits and became total terrors with the pee/poo.. so i was thinking of getting this pen + floor-cover as a cage until they’re spayed. my vet is on vacation and can’t do them until the end of may!

i currently have a really nice big NIC condo for them with linoleum flooring and carpeted ramps and stuff.. and it worked great when they were good with their litterbox.. but now it’s like a 45 minute cleaning job every night!! there’s flung poo and sprayed pee all over.. so i was thinking this might be a bit easier since i can just move the whole pen and scrape off/wipe down the floor-cover outside. i can’t really carry the whole NIC condo outside.. and it’s too big to move around daily.

once they’re fixed and their litter habits return to normal (i pray to every god that they do!).. i’ll put them back in the NIC condo and use the playpen for the deck outside.

                how big do mini-rex’s get?

wow, the clean-living cage is actually sort of cool.. i like the forever expansion of it.

odd question but.. how big are the platforms on the additional levels, roughly? from the picture it looks so small.. i can hardly picture a bunny sitting there.. but i’m sure they’re big enough since a lot of rabbit owners seem to like the cage.

honestly, i may just invest in the cage to go along with the playpen. it’s plastic and light-weight and can be disassembled easily.. can’t say the same for the NIC condo i’d have to snip off the zip-ties just to get it out the door!

One of my bunnies weighs about 4.5lbs and the other is chunkier at about 5.5lbs.  I have one of those cups you can mount to the cage on the second platform and they both can sit up there together and share the pellets.  The platforms are about 9.5 inches wide and are the full length of the cage.  On the third level I have toys and on the forth they have a hanging bed.

I have looked at building an NIC condo on our upstairs deck but so far it seems like alot of work.

                    Have a great Day.

                      thanks for the reply

building the NIC condo isn’t so bad.. if it’s basic with a few levels. the biggest problems are cleaning it, having washable/scrubbable flooring inside it, and moving it… and making some type of guard for the bottom to keep things from being scattered all over (hay, food, etc)

i almost think i’d be better off with something like you have.

I have had my cage and pen for about a year and everything still is intact and in very good condition so it seems to be sturdy enough. If I remember it came in a medium and a large size and I bought the Large cage and the xpen at the same time. About 2 months later I bought the expansion level.

My husband was really concerned about cleanliness and smells when my daughter and I got the rabbits especially when he heard they would be inside rabbits. This is easy to clean so it has worked for us.

Wow that looks cool! Does anyone know the dimensions of the door part of the playpen? And how high the door is from the bottom? I’m interested in the playpen and was wondering if I could somehow modify it to work with my existing cage instead of the Clean Living cage. I do like the Clean Living cage but I can’t really justify spending the money for a new cage when the one I currently have is still in good condition.

WOW AM I reading that right? 32$ !!! OMG That’s incredibly cheap! X-pens here are about two hundred dollars each so that’s a great buy! I know most people who have xpens absolutely love them so that’s probably a great route to choose!

loooove it! Its so handy! The door is only a few inches off the ground maybe 4? And has hooks to keep it open.
I dont have the liner, i just use it on its own. This is an old setup but pretty much how we still use it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v340/luvforcliff/me%20and%20cliffy/PICT0082.jpg Pietro was pretty good at moving it but India’s nose is too big for her to get a grip on it =b

The door to the playpen is 6 inches from the floor. The opening on the playpen is 17 inches high and 14 inches across. The total height is 39 inches high.
