My rabbit Baylor lives in an X pen. Recently, he peed on top of his covered litter box and it went down the sides and onto the fleece🤦‍♀️. Now I have to wash it. However, his fleece is tucked under the puzzle mats which is under the x pen. It’s a pain to move everything every time I clean, plus I’m not sure where to put Baylor as I clean, as he is a baseboard chewer and we figured out he could jump over the barrier we made to block him from escaping, so he needs to be highly supervised. What should I do? Any tips/tricks would be appreciated.

If the spot isn’t too big, you can spot clean with water and vinegar and just re-arrange things slightly so it can air dry without the litter box over it. Workflow wise, you can probably that the fleece off without needing to deconstruct the Xpen, but just strategically lifting it section by section by section as you gather the fleece?  For the future, if he is not a fabric chewer and this may be a “high risk” area, you can purchase a water proof diaper pad or something to put on top, that way it’s not a huge operation to clean the entire floor, especially when only a spot is soiled.

At these times, it can also be helpful to have a back-up floor covering, so the rabbit doesn’t need to wait for an entire wash and dry cycle. He could maybe wait in a carrier while you take off the old fleece and put on a new one.

Yes, I have a back up fleece. I love your idea of putting him in his carrier. He is a fabric chewer so I have to be careful to lay it flat. Also the vinegar and water idea is great and I’ll have to remember that for next time he has a small accident.
