Cleaning a white rabbit’s feet

So, one of my rabbits was playing outside I look at his feet and  !  The bottoms of his feet are dark grey(they are usually white). We tried wiping it off with a damp cloth but it did not seem to work, What should I do?

One of mine has same problem, he spends hours trying to clean them himself. I just leave them to him to deal with it.

The others no doubt have equally mucky paws, we just cant see it, so I’m confident its harmless, and not worth risking saw paws by attempting to clean them over and over.

I read that it’s a bad idea to submerge a rabbit in water, but it’s fine to fill a shallow basin with warm water that will cover up their feet and gently rinse the grime off with the water. I wouldn’t use any products and it’s said that it takes a long time for bunny fur to get wet and also for it to get dry, so you could use a blow dryer on low heat and hold it at least 12 inches away to get the bun’s feets dry. I agree that it probably isn’t a problem, but if they’ve gone outside in an area where other animals have likely walked around and they may have stray bacteria on their feet, you may want to give them a little rinse just to be safe.
