  I went on the classified site Kijiji last night for my city looking for horse stuff and was appalled by the number of unwanted bunnies. There is even an ad for a farm who breeds and sells baby rabbits not too far from my area!!! They have a whole barn full. Do they not realize how many rabbits die unwanted each year!! I’m so tempted to send them an e-mail….
  
  This site is also very popular for reptile owners and I really worry some of the sweet little "free" or "$20.00" buns will end up with them. It saddens and sickens me terribly.
  
  There is a certain little bunny who has caught my eye and as we speak I’m attempting to convert the boyfriend from his "No more animals in the house" position.

  My understanding is that Kijiji is supposed to be an answer to Craig’s List, where the rules prohibit selling animals. Kijiji is a haven for Back Yard Breeders of all types of animals, whose ads get flagged off of Craig’s List.

  Yeh, I too noticed all the unwanted rabbits. It really upsets me too puffy tail!!
  
  The only thing I can do, that I’ve been doing, that makes me feel any better is: Every few days I scan all the new ads, and ANYONE listing “free to good home” or something along those lines, gets an email from me. It’s polite and nice, but explains that animals that are given away free usually get anything BUT a good home and that they should ask for a fee, simply to assure that the home is one where the owner will spend some money on the pet when necessary and also to ensure that people who test on animals don’t scoop them up (It’s actually not very well known, but companies that test on animals sometimes get them from ads like these)

  Never heard of it, checked it out in my area, only one bunny for 20.00. What a shame, IA it’s a ticket for backyard breeders of all animals, ticks me off!

  I havent gone to that classifieds site. My area Craigs List.. I dunno – they flag off too many good, legit ads and let some really wacky ones go through.

  yes i look on friday-ad or barigin pages which is my local papers and it is just omg! there should be regulations on the sales of animals i think, such as papers to document where it was born etc.. and there should be stricter laws for the prosectution of animal owners!
