I know that a lot of the buns here love eating cilantro and/or parsley (mine definitely do!) so I thought I’d give people heads up about a recall in the news lately.

Most of the article is about salmonella in alfalfa sprouts, but begins to talk about cilantro and parsley halfway through.

Fortunately, the parsley recall doesn’t seem to be in my state, but the cilantro recall is. Thank goodness I decided not to get cilantro a few days ago!

          Thanks for the heads-up.

I get so angry when this happens. Thanks for the post, peppy, I might never have known if I didn’t come into BB.com.
Mimzy loves his parsley, he’ll have to do without it for awhile.
It was bad enough when it was anything but produce that was tainted, but to even have our greens be full of contaminants…it just makes your head want to explode! >.<

The “precautionary, voluntary recall” pertains to cilantro and parsley from J&D Produce, Inc., packed between November 30 and December 6, the Edinburg, Texas-based company said in a statement. Cilantro and parsley processed and branded as Little Bear between those dates can be taken to retailers for a full refund.

I think it would be a good idea to check at your local supermarket to make sure that the cilantro/parsley isn’t labeled as indicated above.  Otherwise, there’s no reason to believe that the veggies are possibly tainted…I don’t want to needlessly prevent any little buns from getting their veggies!

You’d be surprised where some of our greens come from…makes me wish I lived somewhere that I could raise my own.
He does have plenty of others he loves to choose from, no worries there.

I recently found a local farmer’s market that has the best, huge greens. Plus great fruits. (What a pleasure to avoid the grocery store’s packaged stuff.)
I asked where some of it was grown, and the answer was “out back.”

Thank you for the alert warning. It’s important to know.
